Funny Cartoon Analysis!
The cartoon I chose from the book "The Absolute True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" by Sherman Alexie was when Arnold threw his geometry book at his teacher Mr. P. The purpose for this cartoon is to show that Arnold is absolutely done with the fact that school in the reservation have no money to buy new book and teach new materials. This also shows that Arnold does not want to give up on his hope and he wants to succeed in life and learn new materials. I picked this cartoon because it was a good representation of how angry and frustrated Arnold was with the school and this made him realize that if he stays in the school at the reservation, all his hopes and dreams will be gone.

I really liked this cartoon also, this was my second choice because I felt it did a good job capturing Juniors anger and frustration and it inevitably lead to Junior leaving the rez.
ReplyDeleteGood pt from Scott about how it means Jr ends up leaving the rez and I like your last line Ben about hopes and dreams being gone. That seems to be a pretty important theme in this novel.
